Admission Information
 

Candidates seeking admission to the first semester of the eight semester B.E./B.Tech. Degree Programme:

Should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of (10+2) Curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as three of the four subjects of study under Part-III or any examination of any other University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University as equivalent thereto.

Should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Vocational stream (Vocational groups in Engineering / Technology) as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Should possess the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or any other authority accepted by the Syndicate of the university as equivalent thereto.

A candidate should have a pass in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Science or minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics as a subject. The candidate should have minimum marks in the qualifying examinations prescribed by Government.

The candidates who posses the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, are eligible for admission to the third semester of the B.E./B.Tech. Degree Programmes in affiliated colleges through lateral entry system.

Notwithstanding the qualifying examination the candidate might have passed, the candidate shall also write an entrance examination designed to test the proficiency of the candidate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with standards prescribed for plus two academic stream of the Tamil Nadu Board of Higher Secondary Education.

The eligibility criteria such as marks, number of attempts and physical fitness and the mode of admission shall be prescribed by the syndicate of the university from time to time.

The candidate shall not have completed 21 years of age as on first of July of the year of application. For candidate belonging to SC/ST, the age limit is relaxable upwards by 3 years.
