EEE Department was established in the year 2002 with an intake of 60 UG students.
Electrical Machines lab was established in the year 2003.
Association of EEE was started in the year 2003.
Control system lab was established in the year 2003.
Measurement & Instrumentation lab & Power Electronics Lab was established in the academic year 2004-05.
Power system simulation lab was set up in the year 2006.
Our Department was accredited by NBA accreditation in the year 2008 & got renewal in the year 2012.
Our department started P.G– Power Electronics & Drives in the year 2009.
Our department conducted an IEEE-based International conference on “Power quality & Power consumption system” in the academic year 2009-10.
Anna University recognized research center was established in our department to carry out collaborative research work in the academic year 2010-11.
Our department was sanctioned a DRDO grant to aid a research project with a fund of Rs. in the academic year 2010-11
Intake of UG students was increased from 60 to 120 in the academic year 2011-12.
Our department conducted CSIR sponsored national level workshop on Future research perspectives on “MEMS and NEMS” ic year in the academic year 2013-2014.
Received the teaching award for our department from Staf-ford Shire University, UK in the academic year 2013-14.
Our department conducted an Anna University-certified “Faculty Development Training Programme on power quality” in the academic year 2014-15.
The project titled “SMART TRAVEL” by P.Sathiya Naryanan–IV Yr., Naratheraprasath–IV Yr., has been selected and funded by IEDC for the academic year 2016-2017.
The project titled “Magnetic refrigerator” by Ramesh Kumar–IVyr, M.Suraj–IVyr, has been selected and funded by IEDC for the academic year 2016-2017.
